Veronica has cultivated a rewarding career that has taken her across various sectors. She began her professional journey as a Training Manager at Hyatt Hotels, where she honed her skills in adult education and customer service. Subsequently, she transitioned to Leaf Landscape Supply, where she oversaw the Finance and Human Resources department. During her tenure, she served as the Region VIII President of the Texas Nursery & Landscape Association for three years and received the prestigious Young Leader Award in 2020. In 2022, Veronica embraced a new career by becoming the President of the Elgin Chamber of Commerce, where she applied her expertise in event planning and business development to foster growth within the community, she is passionate about.
Always career driven, newly single, and unsure what was to come, she fell into a bad headspace that was difficult to shake. In the midst of this challenging period, she realized she was falling short in her roles as a mother, friend, sister, and daughter. Acknowledging the negative trajectory she was on, she made a promise to her son to "figure this shit out." That journey left her with a deep desire to connect with resilient women – individuals who embody authenticity and vulnerability, women who navigate both challenges and triumphs. She had a vision to create a community where women could openly discuss their insecurities and fears while equally supporting and encouraging personal and professional growth.
Leveraging her role as the President at the Elgin Chamber of Commerce., Veronica initiated SHE: Women in Business with the first International Women's Day Event being held in March of 2023. Over the next two years, she created events such as SHE Mentors Luncheons, SHE Kicks Butt Self Defense, SHE Round Table Conversations, and SHE Sips & Splurge Shopping Extravaganza. After completing her third year of International Women's Day, it is proving to be her signature event. In 2025, Veronica resigned from her role at the Elgin Chamber, to take SHE: Women in Business to the next level.
Demonstrating her commitment to engaging with women, Veronica serves on the BizWomen Leadership Council at the Austin Business Journal and a featured speaker at the 2024 Un-Breakable Conference series. Additionally, she is an active participant in the Boss Babes Networking group in Cedar Park, TX, holds membership in Texas Women in Business, Austin Business Woman, and acts as a mentor at ABJ. Veronica was also a Austin Business Journal 2024 Finalist for their Central Texas Women in Business Awards.
Making a meaningful impact on the lives of other women serves as a pivotal motivation for Veronica. Utilizing her adept public speaking skills, she captivates audiences with her compelling storytelling prowess. Skillfully blending real-life challenges with the humor of life's intricacies, (and maybe a cuss word or two) her speeches evoke both laughter and tears, creating an engaging and relatable experience.
If she isn't on the stage, you will catch her channeling her creativity to bring events that the ladies love. Her attention to detail is unmatched and creating a true experience is her specialty. She likes to give her mom the credit for teaching her to go big or go home.
Truly, none of this would matter, if it weren't for her son, Austin. He has always been her driving force, as she has no bigger goal than to make him proud. Veronica has found it important to teach her son, that we can all forge our own way - we just have to be willing to put in the work. Currently attending Texas A & M and involved in multiple leadership organizations, she feels confident that Austin will be just fine as he goes into the real world. But let's be real, she will be there even if he doesn't.
